A Peacock Display Bouquet! Jewel Toned Paper Flowers

This is a picture of a happy brunette woman called Lotti Riley holding a bouquet of handmade paper flowers. The colours are red, blue, purple, burgundy and black.

HOW HAPPY I AM?

The peacock-coloured bouquet: an intensive piece, plastered tip to top with jewel tone flowers and bows and lace and satin. This baby has almost any type of flower I knew how to make at the time, although I've since added quite a few more.

Unfortunately, this is a growing process bouquet. As much as I love the flowers and colours on it, I don't expect to sell it as it has a couple of small issues. The first is the shape; it won't be apparent in the photos but the top is noticeably lopsided. And you can't shake it around to stop people noticing as we do with legs when dancing, because the whole thing is a little wobbly and not quite secure because the top facing flowers are on individual wires.

An exact view from underneath to show how the flowers are balanced around the circular area. The purple circle in the centre is the bottom of the handle.

The starflower in the centre there is also made from a beautiful calendar page! This photo also includes a type of rose, a lotus blossom, a traditional lotus, cherry blossoms, a rolled rose, my paint flowers, my square blossoms and finally, a nebula flower. It all sounds very complicated, doesn't it?

Rolled roses make beautiful centres for other, open style flowers. Realism is not necessary, folks!

The side view, where the slight imbalance is visible. That blue and white lotus flower (the squarish one) is one of several on this piece made from a beautiful set of Japanese calendar prints.

Another view of the top section. The dark blue circles with gold lining that you might be able to see are my special paint creatures, which I'll do a post on soon.

You can see two adorable little bows in this photo; I've never loved bows but well, your own are always cuter than everyone else's, aren't they?
